No Place Like Nome!

A day before we got to Nome, our production crew flew up from Anchorage to go ahead & get ready for the LIVE Finish. We invaded City Hall, using a large room I was told is the City Council chambers. It's always impressive to see how much gear and how many people a production like this entails. Viewers at home have no idea!!

The weather in Nome was fairly nice... sunny and probably around -10... so a little chilly, but not as cold as the wind gusts in Unalakleet that hit -30. We were set up right in front of the ceremonial Finish Line, which was pretty cool.

Notice the massive moon boots? They are so incredibly warm! Hard to walk in, though...

Channel 2 picks up the tab for out-of-town shoots, including our food... and since we had so many crew members in one location, they decided to buy food and cook it instead of going to a restaurant. We chowed down on king crab, caught locally from the Bering Sea. It was so great!
