Back Deck Birthday Bash!

When I asked my dear friend Jennifer what she wanted to do to celebrate her birthday, she wanted to have a get-together at our house on the back deck. The snow is slowly melting as winter comes to an end, but Bob and I were able to clear almost all of the snow from the deck. Jen & her boyfriend Will brought over a couple of cast irons & ingredients to make what are called hobo pies -- they're basically a homemade hot pocket, but way tastier.

As the sun began to set, more people trickled in for the backyard party. We sat on the deck by the fire telling stories, laughing & drinking tasty beverages.
