Getting Back to Alaska

Over the past year, Alaska Airlines has drastically cut back on the number of flights from Anchorage to the Lower 48 and ticket prices keep going up. One of Bob's friends helped get us buddy passes (which require flying standby) for our trip to Seattle, which saved us a lot! It was so easy getting to Washington so we assumed it would be the same for our trip back to Alaska. We were wrong.

We needed to be back January 4th and the airline told us all flights were booked until the 9th. Through Bob's connections, he made a phone call to a friend who works for a transportation company that's in Alaska and the Lower 48. Luckily, the company's CEO was flying back on the 4th on the company's private jet... and there was room for us. We flew on a jet -- for free -- and it was amazing!! What an experience!!!

Landing in Anchorage! The temperature was -20!!
