1st Time Skiing

The Mat-Su Parks & Recreation Department hosted the "Winter Trails Day" up at Hatcher Pass on Saturday. REI offered free cross country ski rental, and a few volunteers were out offering free instruction. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to try more winter activities, especially on such a beautiful day. The skies were blue and there very few clouds in the sky -- which meant very cold temperatures. It was about -14 when I left my house... and about -5 up on the mountain. But staying active kept me warm so no complaints there. Only took a few spills while skiing, but it was a blast!!
